The Trivard Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Trivard International Group, stands as a beacon of positive change across Africa and the world. Established in March 2000, the Foundation is dedicated to the socio-economic upliftment of the communities where Trivard operates. Readers Are Leaders: Rekindling the diminishing reading culture among African youth by providing resources, mentorship, and community outreach.

Future Ready Leaders Conference: Focuses on youth leadership, equipping young people and aspiring leaders with the skillsets and mindsets for today’s dynamic world.

2.  Civility Project: “Civility in Action”

  • Project Overview

The “Civility in Action” project is an initiative of the Trivard Foundation aimed at promoting respect, empathy, and constructive dialogue among individuals and communities across Africa. In a time when divisiveness and conflict can often overshadow positive interactions, this project seeks to foster a culture of civility that empowers individuals to engage meaningfully and positively with one another.

1. Promote Respectful Communication: Encourage individuals to express their thoughts and opinions in a respectful manner, even in disagreement.

2. Build Empathy: Facilitate understanding and compassion by helping participants see issues from multiple perspectives.

3. Encourage Active Listening: Teach the importance of listening to others, acknowledging their views, and responding thoughtfully.

4. Create Safe Spaces: Establish environments where individuals can share their ideas and concerns without fear of judgment or hostility.

Our sustainability approach is rooted in a holistic understanding of social, economic, and environmental challenges facing Africa today. We believe that sustainable development is essential for achieving our aim of positively impacting 1 million young lives. Our multifaceted strategy encompasses the following key areas:

Organize workshops that focus on effective communication skills, conflict resolution, and empathy training. These sessions will be designed for various age groups, including youth, educators, and community leaders.

Create a network of Civility Ambassadors—individuals who exemplify civility in their daily lives. Ambassadors will participate in outreach efforts, sharing their stories and strategies for promoting civility in their communities.

Partner with educational institutions to integrate civility education into school curricula. This will include workshops, discussions, and projects that encourage students to practice respectful communication and teamwork.

Host events such as community dialogues, forums, and cultural exchanges that bring people together to discuss important issues and celebrate diversity. These events will emphasize collaboration and understanding.

Launch social media campaigns that highlight the importance of civility and showcase positive interactions within communities. Encourage participants to share their experiences and stories of kindness and respect.

3. Mental Health and Wellness

Stay Alive Civility Mental Health Art Project: Uses art as a medium to promote mental health awareness and civility.

Suicide Prevention and Awareness Summit: Provides resources, education, and support networks to address the mental health crisis, particularly focusing on youth and at-risk individuals.

4. Economic Empowerment

Supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with financial literacy, entrepreneurship programs, and seed funding.

Vocational training programs to equip communities with skills for self-reliance and economic growth.

5. Environmental Sustainability

Promoting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards across its initiatives by supporting sustainable projects, from reforestation to renewable energy.

10-Year Plan for Trivard Foundation Initiatives

1. Education and Literacy Programs

Year 1-2: Launch and expand the Readers Are Leaders initiative, setting up mobile libraries and literacy hubs in 10 African countries. Partner with local schools and NGOs to distribute books and reading materials.

Year 3-5: Establish partnerships with international publishers and technology companies to provide e-learning resources. Scale the program to reach 1 million youth by introducing reading competitions, mentorship programs, and digital platforms.

Year 6-8: Expand the Future Ready Leaders Conference to become an annual global event, hosting conferences across Africa, the UK, and the USA. Create a network of young leaders and mentors to ensure continuous personal and professional development.

Year 9-10: Set up Trivard Leadership Academies in select countries, offering leadership certification programs and incubating youth-driven social enterprises.

2. Mental Health and Wellness

Year 1-2: Establish regional partnerships with mental health organizations and launch awareness campaigns for the Stay Alive Civility Mental Health Art Project in Nigeria and the Benin Republic. Develop a mobile app offering mental health resources and support.

Year 3-5: Expand the Suicide Prevention and Awareness Summit across sub-Saharan Africa, integrating mental health workshops into schools and local communities. Aim to train 10,000 mental health first responders.

Year 6-8: Collaborate with governments to influence mental health policy changes, securing grants for long-term mental health programs. Launch an annual art exhibition to raise awareness and funds for mental health causes.

Year 9-10: Build regional mental health centers in partnership with local NGOs and hospitals to offer ongoing support, counseling, and rehabilitation services.

3. Economic Empowerment

Year 1-2: Roll out entrepreneurship boot camps in five African cities to support SMEs. Begin micro-financing and financial literacy workshops targeting 5,000 aspiring entrepreneurs.

Year 9-10: Create a Trivard Green Cities Initiative, focusing on urban planning, renewable energy, and environmental education in major African cities, aiming to reduce carbon footprints and foster sustainable growth.
